  • We specialize in veterinary oncology, including new cancer diagnoses, staging diagnostics, integrative support during treatment, and palliative or end-of-life care. We also treat pets with certain chronic conditions that may benefit from acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutritional support, and mobility or comfort-focused care.

  • A definitive diagnosis (such as biopsy or cytology) is encouraged but not required. If your pet has a strong suspicion of cancer based on imaging or your vet’s exam findings, we can still provide guidance, supportive care, and integrative treatment options.

  • Integrative oncology combines conventional medical treatments with complementary therapies to support the whole patient. At Kindred Path Vet, this may include acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutritional guidance, and carefully selected supplements, all tailored to your pet’s specific condition and needs.

  • Yes, though conventional multi-agent intravenous chemotherapy remains the gold standard for treating lymphoma, we can support your pet through integrative care—helping to manage side effects, reduce inflammation, and improve quality of life before, during, or after chemotherapy.

  • We offer certain oral chemotherapy options and can work alongside oncology specialty centers if injectable chemotherapy is part of your pet’s treatment plan. Our focus is always on balancing treatment goals with comfort and quality of life.

  • We provide the following evidence-based, holistic services:

    • Acupuncture

    • Chinese herbal medicine (primarily Jing Tang formulations)

    • Nutrition counseling and diet recommendations

    • Pain and symptom management

    • In-home euthanasia through our partner company

  • Yes. We do not provide:

    • IV Vitamin C

    • Mistletoe injections

    • Ozone therapy

  • No referral is required, but we require and will request your pet’s medical records at the time of scheduling. We will communicate with your primary care veterinarian or specialists to ensure coordinated, consistent care.

  • Yes. We provide most services in the comfort of your home to minimize stress for your pet. We also offer scheduled in-office consultations and acupuncture appointments at our partnered location for clients who prefer an office setting.

  • We serve clients throughout San Diego County. If you're unsure whether you're in our mobile service area, feel free to contact us. Please note, travel fees may apply based on zip code.

  • The initial consultation fee reflects the specialized expertise involved—Dr. Garnett is a board-certified veterinary oncologist with over 12 years of advanced training in both conventional and holistic medicine. However, many of the integrative therapies we offer—such as acupuncture, herbal medicine, and nutritional support—are significantly more affordable than traditional intravenous chemotherapy.

  • Yes, however we only offer virtual appointments for rechecks and follow-up care for pets who already have an established veterinary-client-patient relationship (VCPR). Initial consultations are required to be done in person to allow for a full physical exam, based on California Law.
