Dr. Crystal Garnett

DVM, DACVIM (Oncology), CVA

Integrative Oncologist

Dr. Crystal Garnett is a board-certified veterinary oncologist with a passion for combining Western and Eastern medicine for a whole-body approach to treatment. She earned her veterinary degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2012, completed a small animal rotating internship at The Ohio State University in 2013, and went on to complete her oncology residency at the University of California, Davis, the world’s top-ranked veterinary school. She became board certified in Oncology in 2016.

After relocating to San Diego, Dr. Garnett built the oncology service at a multi-specialty hospital as its first oncologist. A shoulder injury in 2018 led her to experience the healing benefits of acupuncture firsthand, inspiring her to earn acupuncture certification through CHI University, a global leader in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine.

Motivated by the growing need for personalized, comfort-focused care—especially for pets with cancer nearing the end of life—Dr. Garnett founded Kindred Path Vet, a mobile practice dedicated to bringing integrative, relationship-based care directly into the home.

Her approach blends conventional oncology with acupuncture, herbal medicine, and nutritional support to manage pain, reduce side effects, and improve quality of life. In addition to cancer care, she treats patients with arthritis, neurologic conditions, gastrointestinal issues, and other chronic diseases.

Outside of work, Dr. Garnett enjoys yoga, Pilates, reading, strength training, and traveling in her RV with her three spirited longhaired miniature dachshunds.
